New Moon No. 56, Spring
Arrowleaf Balsamroot spreading joy across the landscape.
“Spring work is going on with joyful enthusiasm."

John Muir
Hello lovely beings!

I'm happy to be landing in your inbox after taking an unintentional moon cycle off from writing these Letters. Spring set in, I entered my third trimester, and all of the gardening, foraging, nesting, and preparing for this big shift in my life type projects have been keeping me a busy bee over here. While these Letters may become a little more sporadic as I round this corner into Motherhood and find my footing within the Mother archetype, I strive to bring you a small dose of magic with each Letter I write.

I do hope Spring's bustling energy is providing you with the wind needed under your wings to allow your projects and pursuits to take flight.

I'm personally so incredibly grateful to have been able to maintain an active lifestyle throughout this pregnancy, and I know it's one of the reasons why I still have a decent amount of energy to keep up with all of these various projects at 35 weeks pregnant. That, and the palpable energy of the land lifting me up every time I step outside, take a deep breath, and hear the soundtrack of Spring playing vibrantly throughout the Gorge.

I owe so much of my ease through this pregnancy journey to all the time, energy, and hard work I put into my movement training and nutrition in the years leading up to conception. Simple awareness of how you carry your body throughout the day, what I refer to as dynamic alignment, can make a big difference in the way your body feels at any stage of your life, but especially throughout the season of pregnancy.

I love nerding out with people about how our personal movement matters on so many levels. This education around body awareness, simple biomechanics, and conscious retraining or rewiring of the brain/body relationship through exercise is key to how I work with people in a one on one setting.

I’m booking clients for one time consults (online only) through mid June, then my wait list for new clients goes into effect as I take the time to transition from Maiden to Mother. I’m unsure of my timeline for returning to work after the birth, so if you’re interested in having a 60 minute personalized movement and wellness consult with me to lay the groundwork for your own thriving in whatever season of life you find yourself in, be sure to make moves and get on my books!

Here are the various ways I can support you in our 60 minutes together.

Lifestyle design: how to better organize your life in a way that supports your overall well-being.

Restorative movement: slow, gentle movement exercises and stretches that help you to restore optimal functioning in your body.

Functional fitness: mindful strengthening exercises that focus on daily function over form/aesthetic, using body weight, weights, or resistance bands. Note that form follows function, so developing a strong, functional body often yields the aesthetic results that you may be seeking.

Myofascial release techniques: guided self-massage using a foam roller or massage balls to hydrate stiff muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate patterns of tension and restore mobility.

Prenatal + Postpartum movement: personalized movement guidance and programming to help you thrive in your pregnancy, heal well in the immediate postpartum, and re-engage with your body mindfully after birth to set you up for success as you move through motherhood.

Fertility support: education and personalized guidance around optimal movement, nutrition, and wellness practices to support fertility.

Cycle awareness: sympto-thermal menstrual tracking for hormonal health, as a form of non-hormonal birth control, or to help conceive.

Injury rehabilitation: working with a doctor’s or PT’s diagnosis to support your rehabilitation process through holistic movement training.

Somatic practices: cultivating awareness around how to move and carry the unique, personal architecture of your body through a strong brain/body relationship.

Nature connection: seasonal living through understanding and honoring the distinct cycles found in nature...& remember, we are a part of, not separate from, the natural world.

Breath work: guided breathing techniques to support specific states of being, from feeling focused and alert, to feeling deeply relaxed and safe.

Nutrition + supplement guidance: sharing resources on nutrient dense nourishment and recommending trusted food and supplement brands to help you thrive.
