Hello dear one,
& welcome to February, the month where we find ourselves in the belly of Winter.
In the Celtic Wheel of the Year, Imbolc marks the halfway point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, which falls on February 3rd this year. Imbolc literally means "in the belly" - we are preparing to leave the dark, cozy womb of Winter and be birthed into the Spring season.
Do you feel the Earth's quickening happening within and around you?
Perhaps you notice yourself slowly filling up with a gentle, warming energy?
Are you aware of the lighter, longer days greeting you?
Does your mind crave inspiration and action, but your body rests still under the heavy blanket of Winter?
These are the growing pains, so to speak, of living in the transitional space between one season and the next. This transition from the depths of Winter to the emergence of Spring affects folks differently. Have you ever paused to notice how it affects you, dear one?
I always feel pulled between the seasons, for I love existing in liminal spaces. There is potential for initiation within yourself, and as a part of something far greater than yourself, at each turn of the seasons.
Personally, I choose this potent time of the year to take my annual social media break so I can reset, create, and focus my energy on what truly matters. I have big plans for birthing new creations this year, so lessening the distractions and being protective of my time and energy is imperative for me. One of these new creations will be shared with you under the light of the next full moon, but until then, I offer you this trine of Imbolc inspiration:
dream | activate | initiate
How can you work with this incantation as the dark night's sky offers up a freshly turned garden bed for you to plant the seeds of creation that your heart so deeply desires?
|
|
May you begin to stir deep within the belly of the Earth.
Luminous love,
Jessica
