The Fullness of Fall

The fall season is upon us, and in true Jessica fall spirit, my life is an aligned reflection of the moon among us tonight - FULL! From restaurant reviews, workshop planning, and Luminous Elixirs development, to putting up ceilings at the Arts on Site's residency upstate and getting cast for a last minute dance gig this weekend, I've come quite close to biting off more than I can chew. But alas, I shall call on the spirit of myself in the photo above and keep things in motion...if only I could actually have a few more arms these days! I didn't want to leave you hangin', so while this Lumen Letter is on the lighter side today, I carved out some time during commuting and rehearsal breaks to share with you a package and a poem. The package, being my upcoming class series that sets it's roots this Sunday Oct. 8th from 2-3pm. One thing keeping me anchored during this time of fall frenzy is creating a space to gather, breathe, and move with others. Song for Autumn In the deep fall don’t you imagine the leaves think how comfortable it will be to touch the earth instead of the nothingness of air and the endless freshets of wind? And don’t you think the trees themselves, especially those with mossy, warm caves, begin to think of the birds that will come — six, a dozen — to sleep inside their bodies? And don’t you hear the goldenrod whispering goodbye, the everlasting being crowned with the first tuffets of snow? The pond vanishes, and the white field over which the fox runs so quickly brings out its blue shadows. And the wind pumps its bellows.
