Spring is Singing

Full Moon No. 6, Spring

Hello lovelies!

I can't help but smile as the sun shines upon me and I witness the beauty of the natural world around me - budding and blossoming; each element, each life form experiencing it's process of growth in their own sense of timing and unique expression. The season of spring holds promise for the potential that resides within all of us.

New Moon No. 5, Spring

Heya & happy spring!

Maybe you didn’t notice the lack of Lumen Letters in your life over the past moon cycle or two. Perhaps you were feeling the need to nest just as much as I was. Rather than fight the natural draw I felt to hibernate from the external world during the late winter months, I listened to the seasons within my body and my body of work, which led to Lumen Letters also joining me in my hibernating phase. Seeing that Lumen Letters is a holistic health and wellness newsletter, it seemed pretty hypocritical for me to push through the painstakingly clear signs that I was not going to honor my own health and wellness by creating and sharing content in an uninspired state. So, I hibernated…hard. Now, I’m taking my cues from the budding ripeness of the spring season, slowly awakening from my deep rest of winter to meet spring with a fresh, renewed sense of self. And here I am, back with you, feeling yet again inspired to curate, write, and create!

New Moon No. 4, Winter

Winter's mantra and my mantra for this Lumen Letter: less is more. Keepin' it real with the season's sentiment, I'll leave it at that and leave ya to it!

January // Full Moon Ed.

Happy New Year, oh luminous ones!

You know 2017 is gonna be a good year when all of these elements align at the stroke of midnight - sitting around a cozy campfire with my wild woods man, tucked away in the wilderness, NYC's skyline illuminated with fireworks in the distance, and nature's confetti in the form of snowflakes floating down around you, creating a soft twinkling sound akin to crystals falling on the crisp winter's earth. Nesting under a snowy starlit sky, cuddled under wool's warmth, I was happy to brave the below freezing temps for this surreal NYE experience. Here's to spending more time outdoors in 2017!

16 Things I Learned in 2016

Just because 2016 got a bad rap, doesn't mean it only encompassed negative, soul-crushing lessons. Poor 2016. It tried, really. It did. But ultimately, a lot of us feel betrayed by 2016. There's a lot that went wrong, on a more universal level. But there's also a lot that went right. The negative shade of 2016 has taken over, but that's not the end all be all of the year. We can still excavate the nuggets of wealth that this year served up, in all of their myriad manifestations. Perspective, people - it makes all the difference. That's something I learned in 2016, and here's another 16 to hopefully inspire your own reflections on what you gathered from this year we're about to lay to rest.

Sayonara, 2016!

December // New Moon Ed.

Hello dear ones,

I hope everyone's been having jubilant celebrations shared with loved ones this holiday season. With the new year just a few days away, it's a good time to wrap up any loose ends that might keep you tied to 2016 in an unhealthy way. Let's face it - 2016 was a rough year for humanity. I think John Oliver summed it up best in his 2016 send off, which if you haven't watched, I highly recommend taking the next few minutes to do so - after all, laughter is the best medicine/we have to laugh to keep from crying.

& keep your eyes open for this month's extended Lumen Letter, illuminating your inboxes on the final day of the year, where I'll get pretty personal and share my insights on what 2016 taught me along the way.
